We are members of other re-enactment groups in Florida who wanted to do some alternate impression portrayals.  Some of us do 502nd/506th PIR, 101st Airborne Division or British 7th (L.I.) Parachute Battalion or U.S. Army Air Corps, etc., etc., the list goes on.  But one unit that many people have forgotten is the U.S. 17th Airborne Division.  At a number of our living history events we have had some veterans of the 17th come up to us and say, "I see the Brits, I see the 82nd there and the 101st over there......where is the 17th at???"  Good question.

As far as I know, there are only individual 17th Airborne re-enactors here and there throughout Florida and no established group.  I hope to change this and bring some of my fellow historians and some new ones into the 513th PIR, 17th Airborne Division re-enactor group.  I want to answer those veterans questions and say the 17th is "right over there sir".
